Evaluation of Filming Day 1
On the day that we were filming on the Sunday, 2nd of November, it was raining, but the rain was forecasted to clear up after 4pm, so that was before the start of our filming time, however, it didn't totally clear up as predicted by the time we started at 5:30pm, so it was still wet everywhere, which made it harder to run around, or to do the laying down scenes, that we planned. We also found that it was a lot darker in the woods at 5:30pm, and the fact that we had weak torches, didn't help, as we couldn't get enough light to pick up too much on the camera, so only the characters showed up on screen, with very little of the setting and background. So we may have to consider getting either stronger torches, or reschedule our shooting time, so that the skies are a little bit brighter.
Due to the lack of light, we couldn't film the majority of the scenes that we had planned to do, and could only focus on the shots that were close ups and we could actually focus our light on a certain point, and we also had to consider the chronology of the shots that we did for the trailer.
During the shoot, we decided to swap some of our roles around, with one of the presenter switching roles with the person that was meant to be playing the supernatural role, just because it would be a lot easier for filming, since the supernatural person is not shown often, she could do the filming whilst the others acted.
In conclusion, we have decided to shoot at a much earlier time during our next shoot, and we will most probably have to reshoot all of the scenes. An advantage to shooting earlier, is the amount of light that we will get, and also should we decide to go back to shooting in the dark, we have the choice of shooting in the dark and shooting in the light, so that we have more shots to choose from.
