Deconstruction of Trailer
- Right at the beginning, there are shots of the different production companies that are involved in this project.
- They also bring in names of the other successful films that the company has made, which in this case was "Paranormal Activity" and "SAW"
- Afterwards, they use extremely fast, straight cut edits, with fast zoom ins and bad TV effect to make the eerie shots, where you don't know what it's about.
- The cuts also match to the non diegetic bass booms.
- There is a cyan hue to the colour, which makes the cinematography seem very cold, and this is conventional to horror and psychological movies.
- This is also the first proper shot, where they slowly zoom into the young child who is possessed face, along with the main character's dialogue over the top.
- The dialogue used is very minimal, but it is the most important parts of the dialogue which reveals some of the story.
- There are also lots of cuts to writings and small captions about the movie.
- An establishing shot is used to describe the setting.
- The clips never last for longer than 4 seconds, as this creates suspense along with the extremely fast straight cuts.
- The logo "Insidious" comes in at the end.
