• The main character who is being haunted by the ghost, is the female character who is around the age of 25 years old. 
• The secondary main character is the woman's male partner, who is probably a little bit older than her. 
• They live in their own house, which is quite large with a lot of rooms.
• It is the woman who is the most wary of the supernatural presence in the film.

Oculus

• The main character is once again a female, who is around the age of 25 years old.
• However, this time it switches between the woman's current age, and her age 11 years earlier.
• The secondary character is her younger brother, and once again, there are flashbacks of his current age to his younger age.

Jessabelle

• The main character is woman of around 23 years old, and she is obviously quite vulnerable due to being obviously paralysed from the leg downwards.
• This time, this trailer does not show signs of any major secondary character like the previous two trailers.
• Most of the supernatural events occur when she is alone.

Conclusion

  In conclusion, in supernatural films, the main characters are usually females at around the age of 25 years old. This is probably due to women being more stereotypically vulnerable compared to men, who are meant to be "stronger". 

  To create some balance, there is usually a secondary character who is usually a male, and most likely plays the part of the main character's lover and is usually helping them to solve their problems and act as their counsellor.
