Editing Trial

Editing Trial

  •   I wanted to start trying to edit some of the footage together, to see whether we could piece them all together, and it would be a smooth transition. If it didn't fit together, we would have to consider either changing the script or re-filming.
  • The footage I wanted to try editing, was the beginning scene, where the presenter is extremely out of breathe and she is turning around to look behind her.

  • I put the video into the events slide, before cutting it up and creating a new project with the parts.
  • We filmed the same thing twice, but with different shots, one with a close up and one with an extreme close up, so we could vary the cut.

  • We then had to line up the cuts, and made sure that they flowed together and it wasn't jumpy.
  • By layering the cuts instead of cutting and deleting parts, allows us to edit the clips efficiently because you can just move things about to make things flow.
Here is the finished product:

In conclusion, I think that we may have to overdub some diegetic sound, e.g. the breathing on top, so make it seem more natural, due to the cuts being in a weird place. It also makes it more nicer sounding with a nicer recording.
