Editing Scream

Editing Scream

  • We originally had a scream from the actual filming, however we found that it didn't make an impact on the trailer, as it wasn't the type of scream we wanted as we wanted it to be a lot more blood curdling, rather than a high pitches scream.
  • We used another girl to record her scream, as she had that blood curdling scream that we wanted, so we recorded it via a condenser microphone and on Logic Pro 9.
  • After recording it, I added some compression to it, to make it louder.

  • Some EQ was added to emphasis some of the certain frequencies we wanted.

  • We wanted to include some echo after the scream had ended and when the titles came up, so I added some echo onto it, whilst it would slowly disappear.
  • To make the scream more effected, I copied the audio signal, and I doubled it up, with only a slight delay on the second track, so that it sounds like 2 screams, and this gives it an eerie feel to the scream, as a lot of the possesssed voices consists of having multiple voices.

  • We then added the sound to the trailer, and edited it in.
