Poster Test Shots

Poster Test Shots

  • We came up with ideas for our poster, however, our other idea, with the entity being on the side of the photo, did not turn out how we wanted it to be, so we decided to try out our other poster idea with one of the character looking back with the hand coming out behind her.

  • We went to Bexley Woods once again for the shoot, and we asked one of the characters to come down.
These 2 were the shots I liked best, and we were sure whether to use the one without the hand or with the hand, and whether we would photoshop the hand in or to have it actually in the photo.

  • To edit, I used the programme Aperture, which is a simple photo editing software on the Mac.

  • I decided to try and edit the one with the hand in.
  • I first adjusted the warmth of the photo by saturating and turning the hue of it blue.
  • I then went through the menu, and adjusted the exposure, the contrast, definition etc.
  • The final settings are shown below.
  • I then went to use a brush, to burn some of the photo, especially on the bottom part, so that the title could rest onto it as it goes into a gradient.

  • I also used the brush to put a shadow on the underside of the arm, so that it made it look more realistic.
  • I also lightened the hand a little bit, and then brushed the skin of the main character aswell.
Here is the finished prototype:

Conclusion

In conclusion, I might try experimenting with a shot without the hand, and try to edit in the hand via photoshop, because this may look more haunting.
We might also try another shooting day where we are going to try more closeups on the face.
