Villain Deconstruction

Villain Deconstruction

Evil Dead

  • This film is in the supernatural and gore horror genre.
  • The villain here, is a supernatural villain in the form of a demon, that was summoned by one of the principal characters.
  • In the trailer, the true form of the demon isn't actually seen, but it possesses each of the individuals, and their facial identity starts to change, so that it turns bloody and their personality changed into that of a demon.
  • In this trailer, the villain switched from character to character.

The Awakening

  • This film is a supernatural genre.
  • The main villain that is portrayed in this trailer, is the ghost of a young school boy, however, you only see very quick glimpses of him, and you don't really see his face.
  • You see that is dressed in the uniform of the boarding school boys, and he looks seemingly normal, except he disappears a lot during the trailer.
  • The trailer also suggests maybe another villain, which is another character and this is not revealed unless you go and watch the movie.

The Apparition

  • The villain here, is never shown on screen, as it is supernatural.
  • It is a mixture of found footage and cinematography filming.
  • The villain at the end, takes one of the cameras that is filming the students, and uses it to film the student instead, which builds the suspense in the trailer as it is invading the privacy of the character, and what is used to try and protect the character is being used to against the character.

Conclusion

I feel that we could use the idea of students and mixture of found footage from the film 'The Apparition', and also the ending, where the ghost actually takes one of the cameras that is recording, and records one of the characters sleeping.
